Eastman process fluids are high-performance, high-purity synthetic hydrocarbons designed with various levels of aromatic content providing:

  • Thermal stability and resistance to oxidation - All Eastman process fluids are essentially free of olefinic-type unsaturation, sulfur, or halogen and exhibit high resistance to oxidation, making them ideal for many high-temperature processing applications. Oxidation resistance is about 10 times greater than that of natural mineral oils.
  • High purity - With high purity and low vapor pressure, some of these process fluids may also be well suited for a variety of electronic applications, such as wax removal and circuit board cleaning.
  • Low polarity - Enhances the ability to form solutions with nonpolar materials; essentially insoluble with water.
  • High solvency - Enables dissolution of many solids, greases, oils, resins, etc.
  • High boiling point - The ability to remain a liquid at high temperatures reduces operating pressures and minimizes material losses.
  • Low reactivity - Exposure to common materials such as air and water will not cause a spontaneous reaction; they are inert in many chemical process environments.
