Everywhere you go, it's there-making brilliant colors fade and rich flavors dwindle. It diminishes important vitamins and nutrients and makes your product seem less appealing.
It's ultraviolet light…and there's only ONE WAY to fight its damaging effects.
Vitiva PET is a crystal-clear PET polyester that maintains all the strength and shapability of regular PET, but blocks harmful light to protect the quality and integrity of the contents inside. This protection enhances appeal and drastically extends your product's shelf life. Above all, Vitiva PET is the only PET compound with the invisible UV shield chemically bound to the plastic itself-so foreign substances will NEVER migrate into the product.
Colors Whether you like it or not, exposure to ultraviolet light greatly affects the way customers see your product. It causes natural and synthetic pigments to degrade-making brilliant colors dull and fading those deep hues that define your product's character. Carotenoids (red, yellow, and orange pigments in citrus fruits, carrots, and tomatoes), anthocyanins (blue and red pigments in grapes, cherries, and berries), and chlorophyll are among the natural colors that are most vulnerable to UV damage. Synthetic dyes (like FD&C blue #1 and red #40) are also very much at risk.
Vitamins and Nutrients The longer a product is exposed to UV light, the less it retains important vitamins like A, C, folic acid, and riboflavin. UV light also accelerates the oxidation and degradation of fatty acids. This exposure not only depletes a product's nutritional value, but can also give way to off-flavors, unpleasant odors, and unwanted color changes.
Flavors UV light can diminish the rich flavors that make your product appealing. Citrus flavors transform into not-so-tasty off-flavors. And the artificial sweetener aspartame breaks down, reducing the sweetness of foods and beverages.
You've worked hard to develop a product that appeals to consumers through appearance and performance. It's nice to know that once-harmful UV light isn't so harmful anymore.
Light Transmission Vitiva PET PC715 blocks ultraviolet light up to 370 nm in the light spectrum, protecting the contents of the container. Competitive resins such as polypropylene, polyethylene, and standard PET allow the passage of UV light, negatively impacting the quality of the packaged product. The specification for UV light protection of Vitiva PET PC715 is <7% transmission at 370 nm for a 9 mil well-oriented bottle sidewall.

After all, the shelf is a stage. Vitiva PET ensures your product steals the show. |
