Godefroy Motte
Senior Vice President
Chief Regional and Sustainability Officer

Godefroy Motte is Eastman’s Senior Vice President, Chief Regional and Sustainability Officer. He was appointed to this position on January 1, 2011.

Born in France in 1958, Godefroy Motte studied at the school of ‘Hautes Etudes Industrielles’ in Lille, France, where he graduated as a Chemical Engineer. He obtained a Masters degree in Management (DESS) from the Sorbonne in Paris and later, attended the Harvard Business School (AMP).

Motte joined Eastman in 1985 in Paris, France. His early career focused on the commercial and product side of the Chemicals businesses, but evolved to Market Manager, Regional Business Manager, Site Manager, and then Vice President for the EMEA region.

Throughout his career, he has amassed a wealth of experience relevant to sustainability, having led the European Chemical Association (CEFIC) Responsible Care Programme as well as Eastman’s participation in REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals).

In addition, Motte is also a current member of the ACOM Board of the European Chemical Association (CEFIC), as well as a member of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands and the Advisory Board of the Rotterdam School of Management.

As Eastman’s Chief Regional and Sustainability Officer, Motte is committed to leveraging sustainability as a source of competitive advantage across Eastman.
