Statement of Policy
It is the policy of Eastman Chemical Company to make contributions to worthy organizations, with special emphasis on helping to improve the quality of life in communities where Eastman men and women live and work.

Guiding Principles

The following guidelines determine how contributions are to be made by Eastman.

  • Contributions are generally restricted to organizations which have been granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.
  • Contributions are usually directed toward the communities in which the company has operating units.
  • Contributions should benefit substantial numbers of citizens as well as Eastman employees and families.
  • Eastman will continue to support programs addressing emerging community needs. The support for new organizations or initiatives will be over a defined period of time, but should not exceed five years.
  • All contributions are for one year unless otherwise specified, and recipients are responsible for requesting renewed support. Each request will be considered anew and compared with other requests received for that year. Generally, the multi-year commitments are capital fund drives which are usually three years and no more than five years in duration.

Due to budget limitations, company policy or federal laws, we cannot consider contributions to the following:

  • Individuals, athletic teams or sports related events, choirs, bands, drill teams, labor, veteran, fraternal, social or political organizations.
  • Individual agencies supported by the area United Way organization, except capital fund drives which are normally supported by the community, not the United Way.
  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin.
  • National organizations whose programs do not directly serve the region's needs.
  • Places of worship and institutions devoted solely to religious instruction.
  • Travel related, including student trips or tours.
