Eastman Chemical Company and Habitat for Humanity teamed up to help a local family build a new home. Employees came up with the idea of sponsoring a home. Eastman donated $30,000 for the project, but the volunteers - employees and retirees turned the
project into a reality.
Eastman employees also provided food and water for the volunteers. A coordinating team took on the responsibility of scheduling 200 individuals and numerous groups to make sure workers were always kept in good supply.
Not only was this Habitat house built with monetary donations and labor from Eastman, but many of the building and construction materials used in the project contained Eastman products. Products manufactured by Eastman are commonly found in building materials such as paint, construction adhesives, sealants and coatings.
Thanks to Eastman and the support of employees and retirees, a family's dream has come true.
