Eastman Increases Ester Solvent Prices on October 1

KINGSPORT, Tenn., Sept. 9, 2009 - Eastman Chemical Company is increasing prices on the following products effective Oct. 1, or as contracts allow. These increases are due to elevated operating costs, particularly in raw materials and energy.

Eastman™ N-Propyl Acetate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.02 /lb ($US 0.044/kg) globally.

Eastman™ Isopropyl Acetate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.03/lb ($US 0.066/kg) globally.

Eastman™ N-Butyl Acetate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.03 /lb ($US 0.066/kg) globally.

Eastman™ N-Isobutyl Acetate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.03 /lb ($US 0.066/kg) globally.

Eastman™ IBIB: Off-list price increase of $US 0.02 /lb ($US 0.044/kg) globally.

Eastman™ 2-Ethylhexyl Acetate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.02 /lb ($US 0.044/kg) globally.

Eastman™ N-Butyl Propionate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.02 /lb ($US 0.044/kg) globally.

Eastman™ N-Propyl Propionate: Off-list price increase of $US 0.02 /lb ($US 0.044/kg) globally.
