Eastman Increases Glycol Ethers Prices On October 1

KINGSPORT, Tenn., September 9, 2009 - Eastman Chemical Company is increasing prices on the following products effective Oct. 1, or as contracts allow. These increases are due to elevated operating costs, particularly in raw materials.

EASTMAN™ DM Solvent: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04 /lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ PM Solvent: Off-list price increase of $US 0.03/lb ($US 0.07/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ DE Solvent: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ EP Solvent, All Grades: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ EB Solvent, All Grades: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ DB Solvent: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ DB Solvent, Stabilized: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ DB Solvent Stabilized 2: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.

EASTMAN™ DE-HG Solvent: Off-list price increase of $US 0.04/lb ($US 0.09/kg) globally.
