Eastman Tritan™ Copolyester is BPA-free, Impact Resistant and Crystal Clear

Kingsport, TN (Nov. 2, 2009) – Eastman Chemical Company launches its newest Eastman Insight video on Weil Baby™ baby bottle at www.eastman.com/insights. Made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, Weil Baby™ meets evolving market demand by offering a bisphenol-A (BPA)-free alternative that is crystal clear and dishwasher durable.

The video documents Steve Schmidt the CEO of Key Baby, the maker of Weil Baby™ bottles, recounting his search for a durable material to use for their innovative new bottle. The solution, Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, provided Key Baby with an impact resistant, crystal clear, and dishwasher safe material that meets consumer demand for innovative infant-care products.

“I believe that we’ve created the highest quality baby bottle that’s ever been made,” says Schmidt in the video.

The Weil Baby™ bottle is named for and endorsed by Dr. Andrew Weil, the father of the healthy living movement, leader in integrated medicine, and author of five consecutive best-selling books.

“Steve approached us with the whole story. He wanted a material that was innovative and durable,” says Randy Beavers, business development manager, Eastman Chemical Company. “Fortunately, Eastman Tritan™ copolyester met all of Weil Baby’s uncompromising demands for a safe, durable and easy-to-use baby bottle.”

The new Eastman Insights Film Series explores how employees help customers achieve extraordinary results at Eastman Chemical Company. Blending technical expertise with innovative approaches, Eastman people deliver practical solutions for customers’ specific market needs.

The Weil Baby™ customer success story is the fourth installment in Eastman’s Insights Film Series. Eastman will launch a second video on the healthy aspects of Weil Baby™ bottles and its contribution to innovation in children’s products in November.
