KINGSPORT, Tenn., March 1, 2010 – Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE:EMN) today filed a lawsuit against DAK Americas LLC in connection with their unauthorized use of IntegRex™ PET technology. Eastman developed the innovative IntegRex™ technology for the production of PET, and continues to protect this technology with a robust patent portfolio. Eastman will vigorously defend these intellectual property assets.

Eastman filed its complaint in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. The complaint alleges patent infringement of three Eastman patents that represent a portion of Eastman’s IntegRex™ technology patent portfolio.

Eastman previously filed a lawsuit against Indorama companies located in the United States, Europe, and Thailand in connection with their unauthorized use of IntegRex™ PET technology.
