Kingsport, Tenn. — March 15, 2010 — Eastman Chemical Company announced today that Meyer Corporation, the largest cookware distributor in the United States, has introduced a new product made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester into its BonJour® brand of gourmet coffee products. The Ami-Matin French Press Coffee Maker utilizes the balance of properties of Tritan, including clarity, toughness, and heat and chemical resistance. Tritan also is manufactured without bisphenol-A (BPA).
The BonJour Ami-Matin French Press Coffee Maker features a clear, durable, heat-resistant carafe made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester and a stainless steel filtering screen. The classic bistro-style coffee maker comes with lids in red, yellow, blue, green and black, and is available in 8-cup size.
Meyer Corporation used Eastman Tritan™ copolyester for the French Press coffee maker because it is shatter-resistant, lightweight and BPA-free. In addition, Tritan is chemical-, stain- and odor-resistant, allowing it to withstand the effects of dishwashing detergents and the discoloration potential of coffee.
“Consumers purchasing gourmet products expect the highest quality available,” said Suzanne Murphy, vice president of marketing, Meyer Corporation, U.S., including the BonJour Gourmet Division. “By using Eastman Tritan™ copolyester for our new product, we can offer retailers and consumers a durable, BPA-free coffee maker that is unparalleled to other similar products on the market today.”
The BonJour Ami-Matin French Press Coffee Maker will be showcased at the International Home and Housewares Show (IHHS) in Meyer Corporation Booth S2019 and Eastman Booth S5021. The French press coffee maker will be available at gourmet retailers nationwide and online at www.bonjourproducts.com in fall 2010.
