— Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) has been honored with a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award
recognizing the 50 Best Places to Work in 2014. The Employees’ Choice Awards, now in their sixth year, rely solely on the input of employees, who elect to provide feedback on their jobs, work environments and companies via Glassdoor’s anonymous online company review survey. This is the first year Eastman has made the list.
“We were excited to learn about this honor,” said Eastman Chairman and CEO Jim Rogers. “One of Eastman’s greatest strengths is its culture. I’m proud to have had the privilege of leading this global team of people who make Eastman a great place to work. As Mark Costa takes over as CEO in January, I’m confident we’ll continue to see great things from Eastman and the people who power its success.”
Eastman Sr. Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Perry Stuckey noted, “Our nearly 14,000 employees have created a unique culture that not only makes Eastman successful, but also makes it a special place to work. We’re thrilled that this award resulted from our employees sharing what it’s like to work here.”
The comprehensive Glassdoor company review survey includes both quantitative and qualitative questions designed to capture a genuine and authentic inside look at what it’s like to work in a particular job at the company. The survey asks employees to rate their satisfaction with the company overall, and key workplace factors like career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work/life balance, senior management, as well as culture and values. In addition, employees are asked to describe the best reasons to work at their company as well as any downsides.
