Black+Blum doubles down for the active hydration market

Kickstarter campaign launches revolutionary dual-purpose sports bottle.

Kingsport, Tenn., U.S.A.—November 16, 2017—Black+Blum, the award-winning design company based in London, has earned a reputation for creating original, sustainable designs that people love to use and are proud to own.

In the new Eau Good Duo, Black+Blum has created the ultimate water filter and infuser bottle for people on the go. It’s natural that they chose to make it with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester.

“This revolutionary dual-purpose water bottle has unique appeal for the active consumer who is equally concerned about proper hydration and the environmental impact of single-use bottles,” says Dan Black, cofounder and lead designer at Black+Blum. “Our goal is to make tap water taste great—and to do it in a sustainably mindful vessel that celebrates the naturally clean or infused water it holds.”

When he designed the Eau Good Duo, Dan Black wanted a material that had all the advantages of glass but none of its disadvantages.

“We love Tritan for its durability and taste neutrality,” adds Black. “We also appreciate that it is made without BPA, BPS or other harmful chemicals.”

Importantly, Tritan also offers a unique combination of stiffness and flexibility that allowed a creative solution for securely seating Eau Good’s iconic Binchotan charcoal filter stick—proven to remove impurities, soften water and even add good minerals.

“Perfecting the shape was one of our biggest challenges,” according to Black. “We went through 30 prototypes and nearly 5 different alterations to the tool to perfect the design.”

Throughout the process, Eastman was always on hand to offer support and technical Tritan expertise to help bring the Eau Good Duo to market, available now through a Kickstarter campaign.

“We are launching the Eau Good Duo through a Kickstarter campaign so that we can connect directly with our customers,” Black reports. “It allows them to be the first to enjoy this exclusive design and benefit from 100% naturally filtered or infused hydration.”
