New EastOne Nonwovens Brand Makes Its Debut

Eastman's premier product portfolio for next generation microfiber nonwovens

Miami, FLA. (April 23, 2007) – Eastman Chemical Company is pleased to announce the EastONE family of technologies and performance polymers for nonwovens. EastONE technologies enable production of the next generation in microfiber nonwovens, and they deliver Eastman's newest and most innovative solutions for microfiber nonwovens and flushable and dispersible nonwovens.

The new flagship brand’s first product offering is EastONE S85030 copolyester, a water-dispersible polymer engineered to enable more sustainable production of microfiber nonwovens using segmented pie or islands-in-the-sea technology.

"The launch of EastONE technologies is the culmination of years of development activity by Eastman chemists and engineers to deliver the next generation in nonwovens technology," says Todd Williams, nonwovens global industry leader for Eastman. "By combining our in-depth market knowledge with Eastman's 80 years of experience, we are creating the material difference that gives our nonwovens customers a true competitive advantage."

Additional leading-edge technologies, currently in various stages of comprehensive development and testing, will be released under the EastONE banner for the nonwovens industry.

“We chose to launch our new premier brand at the IDEA show to demonstrate our commitment to and support of the nonwovens industry,” said Williams. “The new innovative EastONE technologies we have just announced show how we put Eastman ingenuity to work for our customers.”

EastONE S85030 expands Eastman’s broad portfolio of industry-standard solutions for the nonwovens industry, including resins for hygiene adhesives, polyesters and copolyesters, Eastoflex polyolefins, cellulose ester functional polymers, and solvents.
