Eastman Franklin Virginia Operations manufactures various grades of oleic and linoleic acid for sale into a number of industries under the trade name Pamolyn™.
The manufacturing site is 98 acres located in Southampton County in rural Tidewater Virginia. The Eastman assets at Franklin were purchased as part of the Hercules transaction in 2001. The Pamolyn™ assets were established in 1970 and were built to upgrade co-product from the crude tall oil distillation process. The Franklin Site also is home to manufacturing processes owned by Ashland (once Hercules) and Arkema. Ashland owns the infrastructure and nearly all of the 64 Franklin employees are Ashland employees.
Working with our Ashland partners, Eastman’s dedication to safety, outstanding attention to environmental conservation, loyal citizenship, and world-class product quality are ever present, a direct result of Eastman's pledge to adhere to the principles of the Responsible Care® program.
