Adhesive Types

Our unrivaled leading edge performance applications for adhesives give customers a competitive edge in achieving their goals and serving their markets.

Anaerobic Adhesives - Fumed silica is used in many adhesives and sealants to control rheology. Eastman CAB can be used in conjunction with fumed silica to produce adhesives and sealants with unique rheology. Typical applications for this product are in sealing of threaded connections against water, oil, gases, and most other materials transported through pipes.

Hot Melt Adhesives - Eastman raw materials are designed to provide broad compatibility with numerous polymers, resins, additives, and plasticizers commonly used in hot melt adhesives. These raw materials are used in a variety of hot melt applications including general purpose adhesives and packaging tapes.

Solventborne Adhesives - Eastman raw materials are used in solventborne adhesive formulations.  Applications include general-purpose permanent labels, tapes, mastics, sealants, contact adhesives, and footwear assembly adhesives.
Waterborne  Adhesives - Eastman's Tacolyn™ resin dispersions are used in waterborne adhesive and coating formulations. Tacolyn™ resin dispersions have broad compatibility with emulsion polymers including acrylic, natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and polychloroprene latexes.  Applications include general-purpose permanent labels, specialty tapes & protective films, and building & construction adhesives.
