Eastman's new novel ester technology features high selectivity and mild reaction conditions. By carefully selecting the alcohol and acid components, the ester derivates can show superior performance, increased stability and better skin compatibility compared to the starting materials.  This unique ester technology can be customized for almost any application, including creation of various ester derivatives from a green, biocatalytic process. Eastman's green process is solvent-less; the only by-product generated is either water or ethanol. By working solvent-free, even trace levels of undesirable solvents can be avoided in the final product and the environmental impact of solvent disposal is eliminated.
