Eastman produces solvents that are used in skin and nail care preparations.

Eastman™ esters, which are most commonly used in nail care products, include methyl acetate. Methyl acetate, which evaporates very fast, is exempt from regulation as a VOC under U.S. federal law and can be used to lower the VOCs in hair sprays. It is also used in non-acetone nail polish removers.
