Tritan is a natural fit for many of your existing processes. It is a drop in replacement for many injection molds with minor or no adjustments and often with no capital investment. In fact, Tritan may provide processing advantages that can actually increase capacity and lower manufacturing costs. Advantages over PC may include:
- Faster injection molding rates
- Lower density (1.18 vs. 1.20 g/cc),* yielding more parts per pound of kilogram of polymer
- Lower levels of residual stress
- Separate annealing step often not required
- Improves chemical and hydrolytic stability
- Fewer complaints and lower replacement costs due to superior dishwasher durability
- Tritan does not use bisphenol-A (BPA) in the manufacturing process
