Since a tackifier resin is always combined with non-fluorescent materials, it is less relevant to test the fluorescence of the resin than it is to test the fully formulated hot melt adhesive.

Figure 1 shows the fluorescence emission of Regalite R1100 and Regalite S5100 hydrocarbon resin in a hot melt adhesive with and without low level UV absorber treatment. Regalite S5100, 50% partially hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin, shows significant fluorescence. but low concentrations of treatment reduce the intensity.
