Field Failure Analysis: Branching


Branching

Look for cracks on the failed part. The cracks that end before they reach the edge of the part are AWAY from the origin. These cracks typically exhibit branching.

Mark arrows on the part to indicate the direction of the origin as indicated by the branching.


Next search for river marks.
