Product Description

These products are PET-based solar control window films with a pressure sensitive mounting adhesive and a clear release liner intended for smooth glass surface applications. The PET substrates are either chemically dyed and/or have one or more of various metals deposited on their surfaces by means of vacuum metallizing or sputtering. The release liner is removed immediately prior to installation and the film is applied to smooth glass surfaces using with a surfactant based water solution. Depending on the physical properties of the glass and the solar control properties of the film, these products provide various solar control and or aesthetic benefits to automotive and architectural glazing.

Architectural Applications:
In buildings, these films protect occupants and furnishings from excessive UV exposure; reduce glare and solar heat gain; reduce fade rate of material furnishings; may modestly improve safety by providing glass fragment containment in the event of accidental glass breakage. Certain versions of these products may enhance non-solar insulation by reducing winter heat loss with low emissivity surfaces. Other versions may enhance daytime privacy only, while others provide enhanced privacy in both day and night times. Yet other versions may provide decorative effects with various patterns and/or light scattering or diffusing effects, and vary widely in optical density/opacity. On vehicle windows, where allowed by law, these films protect occupants and furnishings from excessive UV exposure, reduce glare and solar heat gain, reduce fade or damage rate of interior surfaces, and may modestly improve safety by providing improved glass fragment containment in the event of accidental glass breakage.
