The award-winning Greeting Card Spinner from American Greetings Corporation (Cleveland, Ohio) has maximized display space while enhancing eye appeal, all at moderate cost. The eye-catching P-O-P display occupies the same footprint as the company's previous display but accommodates more cards and offers the benefit of multiple programs. Pioneer Plastics (Akron, Ohio) injection molds the crystal clear card pockets from Eastman Chemical Company's DuraStar polymer. "Our goal was to achieve a new, more eye-catching look while displaying more product in a condensed amount of space. In terms of our choice of material, we had four basic needsvisual appeal, strength, flexibility and moderate cost. DuraStar polymer is superior in clarity and is cost-effective relative to other materials. It's also a very impact-resistant plastic," said Michael Schindley, engineering supervisor for display design at American Greetings. "This material was developed specifically to meet the needs of the P-O-P display market. It's a very clear easy-to-process polymer. Superb aesthetics, injection moldability and chemical resistance make DuraStar polymer ideal for use in the display area," said Jimmy Dickerson, Eastman business market manager. |
