Product & Contact Information

Energize your food bin displays and increase aisle traffic by introducing food bins made of DuraStar polymer. This high-gloss, high-clarity polymer will provide brand owners with food bin displays that generate superior shelf presence.

DuraStar polymer offers this industry outstanding benefits:

• NSF 51 certification.

• Compliance under FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1240 for food contact.

• Excellent clarity—maintains exceptional clarity even after exposure to a variety of food chemicals and cleaners.

• No altering or scalping of food flavors.

• Excellent toughness.

DuraStar polymer has also been tested against some of the most aggressive chemical agents used by the food industry. In many foods, common ingredients such as amaretto syrup, anise extract (extracted from black licorice), almond extract, and coconut oil can attack plastics, causing a loss of physical properties, poor aesthetics, or both.

DuraStar polymer was tested against these agents in an accelerated aging test for 240 hours at 50°C. Only the most aggressive, anise, in concentrated form was able to produce a loss of elongation properties greater than 50% and produce any visible surface effect.
