Sputtering Technology to Meet Your Unique Needs
CPFilms uses advanced sputter technology to coat a variety of flexible surfaces with virtually any metal, alloy or oxide. These capabilities are complemented by hundreds of years of combined experience, 3 plant locations on 2 continents, and ability to coat 1905mm wide. Unlike conventional metallizing processes, sputter coating does not require high temperatures and can be applied to a greater variety of materials, such as polyester (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), Cellulose Tri Acetate (TAC) and Cyclo Olefin Polymer as well as Kapton® and Ultem®, enabling us to meet our customers' specific performance requirements.
Advanced applications using our sputter coating technology include printed circuits, membrane switches, digital proofing and solar control films. Our sputter coating process is available on film thicknesses ranging from 48 to 1,000 gauge, or 12 to 250 microns. A state-of-the art, clean room manufacturing plant and strict quality controls enables us to provide the highest levels of consistency for a wide range of performance properties including:
- Light transmission from 92% VLT to opaque
- Optical density from 0.04 to 4.5
- Resistivity down to 1 ohm per square
The team at CPFilms films works directly with our customers to assess needs and provide the appropriate solution for specific applications. Our wide array of sputter coating product materials includes titanium, aluminum, gold, copper, silver, zirconium and other metals; stainless steel, nichrome, inconel and other alloys, as well as tin oxide, indium tin oxide (ITO), indium oxide, silicone dioxide, silicone nitride, titanium nitride, and others.
