Switching to Eastman Turbo Oil 2380 produces positive results for Russian carrier
Kingsport, TN, February 10, 2015 - Russian carrier Volga-Dnepr has reported significant improvements in its D18T turbofan engines following a conversion to Eastman Turbo Oil 2380, formerly BPTO 2380. Now part of the Eastman Aviation Solutions family of products, Eastman Turbo Oil 2380 has been an industry mainstay standard grade oil for more than 50 years.
Maintenance officials from the airline’s internal MRO provider, Volga-Dnepr Technics GmbH, have reported cleaner engines resulting in a reduction in maintenance costs and improved reliability of engine operation.
Volga-Dnepr Technics GmbH Managing Director Ildar Iliyasov said the approval from global OEMs regarding Eastman Turbo Oil 2380 inspired them when comparing the viscosity data on different types of oil.
“We followed the OEM’s recommendations, using their method of change in the main engine and accessories to achieve the best results,” said Iliyasov.
“We really appreciate the help we’ve received from the team, who is now part of Eastman Aviation Solutions, and ensured the operation ran as smoothly as possible, assisting us with updated progress reports and relevant technical documents,” Iliyasov continued.
The oil conversion also offered the MRO provider more flexible logistical strategy and customized solutions for its business operations.
“Compared to the limitations of our previous oil, we now have the opportunity to access Eastman Turbo Oil 2380 in a variety of destinations around the world, which is very promising for the business,” said Iliyasov.
“Our collaborative relationship with the team that is not a part of Eastman Aviation Solutions has enabled our organization to continually find successful solutions for our customized requirements, and we are very thankful for that,” Iliyasov concluded.
