Film modification

Manufacturers looking for improved film properties and better sustainability in flexible packaging can turn to Eastotac™ and Plastolyn™ hydrocarbon resins from Eastman.

They offer:

  • Lower heat-seal temperatures
  • Improved barrier properties
  • Improved transparency (gloss and haze)
  • Increased stiffness
  • Better shrinkability
  • Improved processability in film production and stretching
  • Global food contact clearance
  • Improved product recyclability to help reach sustainability goals

Chemistry benefits of Eastotac and Plastolyn include:

  • High compatibility with polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE)
  • Higher molecular weight, making them less susceptible to migration
  • Better melt viscosity match in PP polymer blends
  • Increased efficiency

They also allow a wider range of processing conditions and are easier to use than typical PP resins.
