About Advantis

Advantis solutions improve adhesion in three ways: as a primer between the substrate and subsequent coating, as a primer or tie coat between coating layers, and as a stir-in formulation additive. Advantis products are made with modified, chlorinated and unchlorinated polypropylene and polyethylene polymers that stick to hard-to-bond-to surfaces. They are commercially available as solutions, water-based dispersions and solid resins.

Leveraging decades of proven science, Advantis was developed as an effortless, drop-in alternative to formulations that use traditional Eastman adhesion promoters. The robust Advantis portfolio offers a range of solutions that can be tailored to a customer’s needs. That portfolio is backed by Eastman technical experts who can help find the right Advantis solution for your formulation.

Compliance without compromise

The reclassification of materials is a major trend across the coatings industry, presenting formulators with two choices — continue to use these materials with their new hazardous labeling or switch to solutions that limit or remove these materials. Advantis offers a simple alternative to help customers remain compliant without the need for reformulation.

End-market products impacted by materials reclassification could include:

  • Paints and coatings
  • Resins
  • Adhesives
  • Polycarbonates

Industrial uses

Advantis is made to stand up in harsh industrial environments. It provides quality shine and luster, helping exterior signs survive year-round weathering and container caps endure frequent handling. It also holds up to high-pressure water jets.

Advantis works on a range of plastics and general industrial products as well as for graphic arts uses. Even wood furniture makers that need plastic edge banding on their products can trust Advantis.

Packaging applications

Advantis can help packaging formulators create beautiful and durable solutions. It promises better protection that helps prevent inks from scratching off or delaminating from the substrate. Commercial inks and graphic arts maintain their appearance over time, enticing retailers and customers to purchase the end products.
