Eastman’s recent acquisition of Sterling Chemicals, Inc. includes a manufacturing facility in Texas City, Texas. The Texas City site produces acetic acid.

Our Texas City facility covers an area of 290 acres and is strategically located on Galveston Bay. The site is in the heart of one of the largest petrochemical complexes on the Gulf Coast.

Sterling was founded in 1986 to acquire and operate Monsanto Company’s petrochemical plant in Texas City. The purchase was completed on August 1, 1986. The company was purchased by Eastman Chemical Company on August 9, 2011.
