Clear advantages for face and eye protection
Eastman offers a portfolio of clear products with properties that solve a variety of challenges for the face and eye protection market.

Consider all your safety, visibility and durability needs when you select a material for face protection or eye protection products.

Eastman Tritan™ copolyester
A new face in the market, but already the standard for combining impact strength and chemical resistance — and much more.
  • Meets ANSI 300ft/sec. high-impact resistance parameters
  • Equal or superior to polycarbonate (PC) for 12 of 13 chemicals in UL 1203 chemical vapor tests
  • Easier to fabricate than PC
  • Lower density than PC
  • Save energy and time — thermoforms at a lower temperatures; no annealing required

Eastman™ cellulosics
Cellulosics are the premier choice for superior chemical resistance because of their innate ability to release stress. Tenite™ brand cellulosics continue to be the industry leader because of these advantages:

  • Pressed, polished acetate sheet sets the standard for clear and pristine optics
  • Both acetate and propionate have industry-best scratch resistance
  • Natural anti-fog resistance makes cellulosics the clear choice for anti-fog and other coatings
  • Supports sustainability initiatives:
    • Made from 100 percent renewable softwood materials
    • Sheet can be processed at 20 percent lower temperatures and dried in 25 percent less time, compared with some popular polymers

Eastman™ PETG
Eastman Spectar™ copolyester is a proven, value-priced option for many applications.

  • Passes impact resistance specifications for many face protection applications
  • Solid choice for applications that require thinner gauge
  • Easy to fabricate
  • Cradle-to-pellet energy footprint is significantly less than PC*

Chemical Resistance
Any change in the surface of protective equipment can impair vision and be a safety hazard, regardless of other properties.  Keep a clear perspective of chemical resistance.
