Tritan provides a balance of clear, tough and BPA-free properties

Kingsport, Tenn., USA — Feb. 15, 2013 — Eastman Chemical Company invites Ambiente attendees as well as members of the media to visit its booth (E28 in Hall 1.1) during the show, held Feb. 15 to 19 in Frankfurt, Germany. Eastman experts will be available to talk about Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, a new-generation bisphenol A-free copolyester that provides a unique balance of processing and performance properties for housewares and small appliance applications. Attendees can experience the material’s benefits by seeing and touching products made with it.

Eastman Chemical Company works with leading brand owners who use the design flexibility Eastman Tritan™ copolyester offers to create differentiated products that perform well under a variety of end-use conditions. Tritan is the clear choice for premium brand owners because when compared with other polymers, Tritan offers many advantages, including:

  • Clarity: Tritan has superior clarity, creating a lasting aesthetic appeal. Because of its high heat resistance, the material doesn’t craze or haze after repeated dishwasher cycles. It also provides the look of glass without the weight or susceptibility to breaking.

  • Toughness: The material has less breakage, chipping, brittleness and shattering and a greater impact resistance, helping increase product life. Tritan maintains its physical properties when exposed to a wide range of foodstuffs, detergents and sanitizers.

  • BPA-free: Tritan is manufactured without BPA.
