Eastman supports regional recycling approaches globally and is working to ensure each region prioritizes collection and develops infrastructure for local recycling.
We joined forces with different stakeholders of the plastic value chain in the EU to call for urgent action from EU institutions. The recycling industry faces an acute crisis in the region: unfair competition, regulatory uncertainty, and rising plant closures threaten the ability to turn European waste back into European feedstock.
We believe that EU recycled content targets must be met first with material derived from European‑collected waste so that investments, jobs and industrial know‑how remain in the region.
