Air quality and emissions

Eastman is committed to protecting air quality and operating responsibly across our global footprint. We work to reduce emissions and manage risk to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees, neighbors and the environment.

Our approach integrates compliance with applicable laws, regulations and permits in every location where we operate. We apply consistent company standards, invest in emissions control technologies and drive continuous improvement through prevention-focused design, operational excellence and strong governance.

We monitor and manage key pollutants — including nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and greenhouse gases (GHGs) — and implement measures to minimize emissions. Our programs include effective control technologies, energy efficiency and process optimization, and responsible fuel and feedstock choices where feasible.

Transparency and engagement are central to our work. We report on our performance through recognized sustainability channels; maintain robust systems for training, auditing, and emergency preparedness; and engage constructively with regulators and community stakeholders. For investors, effective air quality management supports business continuity, mitigates regulatory and operational risk, and strengthens long-term resilience.
