The Eastman Renew product portfolio puts our sustainability commitment into practice. Our goals, initiatives, and achievements are detailed in our
2022 sustainability report.
With our molecular recycling technologies, Eastman is a leading supplier of sustainable solutions.
Molecular recycling technology uses hard-to-recycle waste plastic as a feedstock and breaks it down at the molecular level. As a result, it helps divert waste from landfills, incinerators, and the environment while reducing GHG emissions.

Carbon renewal technology takes a wide array of mixed plastic waste—much of which cannot be recycled with traditional mechanical recycling—and breaks it back down into its molecular building blocks, allowing the molecules to be reassembled to build new products. This allows materials to be recycled an infinite number of times—unlike mechanical recycling—with no compromise or loss of quality. Carbon renewal technology is used for Acetate Renew and Tenite Renew for frames. Learn more about
carbon renewal technology.
Polyester renewal technology unzips polyesters, using either glycolysis or methanolysis to convert them back to their basic monomers to create new materials. The molecules produced are indistinguishable from materials made with virgin or nonrecycled content. Polyester renewal technology is used for Tritan Renew frames and lenses. Learn more about

Have confidence in your sustainability story. Rigorous certification provides peace of mind for your sustainability claims. Eastman and all value chain partners are ISCC certified, ensuring full traceability of the recycled content through the value chain.
In addition, for Tenite Renew and Acetate Renew biobased content, Eastman holds FSC and PEFC chain-of-custody certifications.
