One of the most significant demonstrations of Kirk’s impact is her leadership of Worlds of Work, a career-exploration initiative that connects students with real-world career pathways and future opportunities. In 2025, the program celebrated its 10th anniversary, bringing together approximately 1,500 volunteers and serving nearly 8,000 students. Since its launch in 2015, Worlds of Work has reached more than 50,000 students, providing hands-on exposure to careers across a wide range of industries and strengthening long-term workforce development and economic vitality in the region.

Beyond her work with Worlds of Work, Kirk serves on the board of directors for Community Enabler, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing emergency needs such as food insecurity, clothing shortages, utility assistance and housing challenges. Community Enabler serves approximately 5,000 people and families each year. Additionally, Kirk serves with the Anniston Museum of Natural History, Anniston Rotary and the Choccolocco Creek Watershed Committee. Through these roles, she helps advance opportunities for education, exposure to new experiences and environmental protection — key elements to enhance quality of life throughout Calhoun County.
