Eastman introduced Naia™ Lyte, a new cellulose acetate filament yarn, at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics spring/summer exhibition in March 2026. This latest addition to the Eastman Naia™ portfolio represents an important milestone in performance for lightweight and premium fabrics.
As global climate patterns shift and consumer demand for breathable, easy-care materials grows, Naia™ Lyte expands the technical capabilities of cellulose acetate yarn. With enhanced tenacity, Naia™ Lyte unlocks new creative and functional possibilities for designers, mills and brand partners.
An immersive technical reveal
The Naia™ booth at Intertextile featured an immersive sensory environment where the international textile community could experience the fiber’s unique properties firsthand. The centerpiece — a cascading fabric installation — highlighted the fabric’s signature ultralight hand and silklike aesthetic combined with a notable advancement in tensile performance. This balance allows for the creation of delicate, lightweight fabrics that support a wide range of applications.
Garments and fabrics made with Naia™ Lyte were on display, showcasing lightweight solutions for modern apparel.
"Inner strength is what powers Naia™ Lyte’s signature outer lightness," said Karina Ke, Eastman Naia™ business development manager. "By increasing the tenacity of our yarn, we are expanding the performance boundaries of acetate yarn. This enables a new echelon of lightweight performance while staying true to the luxurious look, comfort and sustainability that define the Naia™ brand."
