About animal nutrition

Customers have trusted us since 1951 as we've evolved from an acid producer to an animal nutrition solutions provider. Through decades of experience, strategic acquisitions and long‑term investment, we've built a deep understanding of the feed and food chain and created a strong market presence.

Today, we support the industry as a trusted provider of proven solutions. We produce choline chloride, the widest available range of organic acids and a broad selection of proven specialty feed additives, including esterified fatty acids and plant bioactives.

Collaborative expertise

Our approach combines practical expertise and established science, using both formal research and field trials. We continue to develop a deeper understanding of ingredients, modes of action and evolving nutritional challenges — focusing on proven and available solutions.

We ensure reliable performance under real‑world conditions by applying well‑understood technologies and validated ingredients. When appropriate, our animal nutrition experts can refine or adapt solutions for your specific needs.

Committed to sustainability

Eastman supports sustainable feed practices by improving feed hygiene and efficiency. Our portfolio helps protect raw materials and feed from spoilage and contamination. This reduces waste and loss while supporting efficient resource and energy use. By helping maintain feed quality as part of an overall herd health and feed management approach, our solutions may help minimize the need for antibiotics and other substances of concern.

Expert regulatory compliance support

We navigate diverse regulatory environments across regions. We’re committed to upholding industry standards, ensuring animal welfare and fostering customer trust. Through close collaboration with our research, application and technical service teams, we align formulations with regulations for efficient market introduction. Our regulatory team does more than ensure a compliant product portfolio. We actively monitor global regulatory changes, engage with authorities and leverage our expertise to provide valuable insights. This allows us to help customers plan and implement compliant practices.

Labeling

As labeling transparency and ingredient regulations tighten, we support customers by providing labeling guidance and assistance in navigating regulatory restrictions. This can benefit smaller customers without in-house regulatory teams.

Environmental impact

We collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with sustainability standards like responsible sourcing. Our Oulu, Finland, site's switch to liquified natural gas, among other initiatives, significantly reduced our carbon footprint.
