Eastman Tritan™ copolyester provides greater dishwasher stress crack resistance.

Laboratory sample bars were subjected to a range of strains in three-point bending fixtures and placed inside the dishwasher. While Eastman Tritan™ copolyester showed no evidence of cracking or crazing after 500 dishwasher cycles at any level of applied strain, PC bars showed significant degradation at all levels of applied strain.

The graph at right shows the number of dishwaser cycles required to break the sample using a leading powdered detergent in a residential dishwasher. PC bars under 1% strain failed after only three dishwasher cycles.
