Established in 1965 in Mauá, a city that is part of greater São Paulo, Scandiflex was later acquired by Eastman in August, 2011. The site manufactures a diversified line of polymeric and monomeric plasticizers for a variety of end-use applications. In addition to plasticizers mainly linked to PVC, rubber and its compounds, the Mauá site produces polyester-polyols, thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), esters for lubricants, and other specialties. The production is destined to the local and export markets. The Mauá Operations site also houses quality control laboratories that support both Advanced Interlayers and Specialty Fluids & Energy product analysis, and support bulk operations for the Coatings & Inks business unit.
