Customers, distributors gather in Ghent to share, learn and collaborate

The coatings industry plays a crucial role in many important global markets. Due to changing consumer and regulatory demands, there is considerable growth potential. That's why Eastman aims to shape the future of coatings through close collaboration and engagement. The development of those connections was the focus of a two-day event at the company’s European Technology Center (ETC) in Ghent, Belgium.

In the fall of 2022, 50 participants gathered to learn and share successful product translations and discuss how they can be leveraged to meet future customer needs. Eastman also shared recent advancements in its Eastman Tetrashield™ protective resin system and Optifilm™ enhancer portfolios. Among the participants were 35 distributors who shared success stories and toured the technical facilities.

Eastman hosts events like this as part of an effort to promote collaboration and mold the future. The event also allowed participants to get acquainted with new teams and partake in networking opportunities after the recent reorganization in the coatings division. It serves as an example of how Eastman seeks virtual and in-person engagement with its partners to nurture a path forward together.

“This event helps us create more opportunities for our partners, discuss better ways to do business and collaborate across the value chain,” said Serpil Nalbant, global business development manager for Eastman coatings and inks. “It should serve as a launching point for a new wave of synergy between Eastman and our industry partners to build the future of coatings together.”

Participants were briefed on emerging market trends such as automotive regulatory insights and protective coatings trends for industrial applications, as well as on Eastman's sustainability vision and how that translates into coatings and inks products.
