Polymer processing requires precise temperature control. Only vapor-phase condensing heat transfer media enables this. For those polymers particularly sensitive to high temperatures, Eastman Therminol® heat transfer fluid offers a vapor-phase fluid with a boiling point nearly 15°C (30°F) below that of traditional DP:DPO fluid.
Therminol VP-3 provides excellent heat transfer performance up to 330°C (625°F). It is safe to use in typical extruders and peripheral jacketed equipment in their pressure ratings.
Using Therminol for precise temperature control results in uniform and precise condensing HTF temperature. This leads to optimal polymer-chain length consistency and properties.

Therminol VP-3 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid for vapor-phase applications at lower temperatures than traditional DPO/biphenyl fluids like Therminol VP-1. It’s easy to handle with little odor.
