Plastics and polymers are made on equipment that needs a broad range of operational flexibility. Eastman Therminol® heat transfer fluids work in a variety of conditions to facilitate easier manufacturing of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and other materials.
Reaction vessels may operate at temperature ranges that require a heat transfer system to provide heating and cooling. This type of system configuration works best using a single fluid to transfer heat over the complete temperature range. Manufacturers have found the versatility and reliability of Therminol make it ideal for use in their production facilities.
Therminol 54 is a synthetic fluid designed for reliable heat transfer at bulk temperatures up to 280°C (540°F). Ideal for nonpressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems, it provides efficient process heat without the need for high pressures.
Therminol 55 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid designed for moderate-temperature applications in nonpressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems. It provides efficient and dependable uniform process heat without the need for high pressures.
Therminol 59 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid known for its excellent low-temperature pumping characteristics and thermal stability. It is ideally suited for combination heating and cooling applications, providing effective heat transfer rates even at temperatures as low as 20°C (70°F).
Therminol 62 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid designed with custom chemistry for high performance, purity and low pressure, offering exceptional thermal stability. It is specifically engineered to resist solids formation and prevent system fouling.
Therminol 66 is a high-temperature, liquid-phase heat transfer fluid that remains pumpable at low temperatures and offers exceptional thermal stability. It is specifically engineered to resist solids formation and system fouling, ensuring improved reliability and potential cost savings.
Therminol 68 is a high-temperature liquid-phase heat transfer fluid that operates effectively at temperatures up to 360°C (680°F). It features excellent thermal stability and a boiling point of 308°C (586°F), requiring about 2 bar of static pressure to maintain the liquid phase at elevated temperatures.
Therminol ADX-10 is a low-viscosity, synthetic organic heat transfer fluid particularly recommended for indirect liquid-phase process heating at medium temperatures. Its low-temperature properties eliminate the need for steam or other heat tracing methods.
Therminol SP is a synthetic heat transfer fluid for moderate-temperature applications in nonpressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems. It offers efficient, uniform process heat without high pressures and resists oxidation ten times better than mineral oils.
Therminol VP-3 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid for vapor-phase applications at lower temperatures than traditional DPO/biphenyl fluids like Therminol VP-1. It’s easy to handle with little odor.
