Eastman Therminol® heat transfer fluids offer excellent options for the gas-to-liquid (GTL) conversion process.
The GTL process converts natural gas — which is mostly methane — into a mixture called syngas (hydrogen, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide). The syngas is cleaned to remove sulfur, water and carbon dioxide and prevent catalyst contamination. A reaction is then initiated to combine hydrogen with carbon monoxide to form different liquid hydrocarbons. These liquid products are further refined into liquid fuels.
Therminol heat transfer fluids ensure reliable and efficient operation for reactive GTL processes that require high temperatures.
Therminol 55 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid designed for moderate-temperature applications in nonpressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems. It provides efficient and dependable uniform process heat without the need for high pressures.
Therminol 59 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid known for its excellent low-temperature pumping characteristics and thermal stability. It is ideally suited for combination heating and cooling applications, providing effective heat transfer rates even at temperatures as low as 20°C (70°F).
Therminol 62 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid designed with custom chemistry for high performance, purity and low pressure, offering exceptional thermal stability. It is specifically engineered to resist solids formation and prevent system fouling.
Therminol 72 is an ultrahigh-temperature, liquid-phase heat transfer fluid designed for exceptional thermal stability, suitable for use at temperatures up to 380°C (720°F). It minimizes the formation of low boilers and eliminates the risk of insoluble high-boiler formation and fouling.
Therminol SP is a synthetic heat transfer fluid for moderate-temperature applications in nonpressurized or low-pressure indirect heating systems. It offers efficient, uniform process heat without high pressures and resists oxidation ten times better than mineral oils.
Therminol VP-1 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid composed of diphenyl oxide (DPO) and biphenyl designed for ultrahigh temperatures. It offers exceptional thermal stability and low viscosity, ensuring reliable performance in vapor- and liquid-phase systems from 12° to 400°C (54° to 750°F).
