Lucian Boldea, Ph.D., is the vice president and general manager for the Specialty Plastics Business Organization (SPBO) at Eastman Chemical Company. Boldea graduated from West Florida University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He received a doctor of philosophy degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Florida in 1997. Boldea joined Eastman in 1997 in the Organic Development Department, and in 2000, he moved to Global Technology Ventures. Boldea was later assigned to Performance Chemicals and Intermediates Business Organization (PCIBO) where he served as Business Market Manager of Chemical Synthesis, Business Market Manager of AG and Pharmaceuticals, and Business Manager for Chemical Synthesis. He was appointed Director of Performance Chemicals Business Development and Technology in 2004. In 2005, Boldea was assigned to SPBO as Strategy and Business Development Director and was later assigned responsibility for SPBO Growth Platforms. Before assuming his current position, he served as the Business Unit Director for Durables and SPBO.
