For the second time, Eastman exhibited at the Interfilière exhibition in Paris on July 8–10, 2017, to show the fashion apparel market that Naia™ from Eastman embraces the desires and values consumers demand: luxury, comfort, ease of care, and sustainability — all together.
With inherent softness, moisture management, and sustainable origins, Eastman Naia™ cellulosic yarn offers brands the opportunity to truly innovate their next collection — as was showcased at the fair with the collaboration of trendsetter Ellen Haeser of Studio Haeser. Haeser designed giant storytelling collages and print designs in the Gardening and Nomad themes of fall/winter 2018/19 to showcase the versatility of Naia, not only in terms of different fabric qualities but also the ability to create distinctive finishes on Naia fabric with printing.
Haeser had this to say about working with Naia: “Fabrics containing Naia yarn are a great canvas for numerous types of print styles. From abstract painterly to photo realistic, everything printed beautifully and was easily converted into garments that were showcased in the Eastman booth and modeled in the Trends Forum.”
In addition to printing, Eastman explored the limitless possibilities of 3D printing featured at the Innovation Forum. Eastman and Haeser partnered with i-Lab Toulon to showcase 3D printing using two Eastman products — Eastman Amphora™ 3D polymer and Naia™ from Eastman. Haeser created two floral designs in line with fall/winter 2018/19 trends to illustrate the simplicity of introducing eclectic 3D elements to our daily wardrobe. i-Lab Toulon used its expertise in 3D printing to craft Haeser’s floral designs into real-life wearable elements.
Over 127 fabric samples — conventionally and digitally printed, vibrantly colored, textured, and so much more — were displayed at the Eastman Naia booth, representing a growing global mill network only six months after the new brand was launched at Interfilière Paris in January 2017. Key intimate apparel mills — including Best Pacific International Holdings, Billion Rise Knitting, Sinotex Textiles, Wanjiali Knitting, Yu Yuang Textile Co., Celeb Textiles, Tintex, LE Textiles/Lauma Elastic, and Sanko Tekstil — showcased Naia fabrics at their Interfilière display. The inherent benefits of Naia — comfort, luxurious appeal, and ease of care — are now enhanced with increased design possibilities through printing. This, combined with a continuously increasing global mill network, explains the great interest fashion brands are showing in adopting Naia in upcoming collections.
The success of Eastman Naia at Interfilière Paris is sure to open doors to new collaborations and more fabric offerings. Continuing to make strides in the fashion apparel industry, Eastman Naia will exhibit at two more Interfilière fairs in 2017 — New York in September and Interfilière Shanghai in October.
