Aplus Molds & Plastics continues to innovate with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester.
Kingsport, Tenn., USA — Monday, November 20, 2017 — The role of the molder in fostering a brand image is often underestimated. The four mission pillars of Aplus Molds and Plastics (AMP) provide the molder’s perspective:
- Perfect the production process
- Add value through innovation
- Explore the limits of plastic utility
- Provide a full range of plastic molding solutions
AMP, a molder of commercial houseware products for some of the world’s best-known brands, uses innovative plastics such as Eastman Tritan™ copolyester to make a material difference for its customers.
For more than 20 years, AMP has been a leading injection molder in Asia. Since 2009, it has used Tritan in in-store products for one of its largest customers.
“We began using Tritan for a coffee shaker product for a key customer,” says Jason Wang, founder of AMP. “We have expanded its use to many other backstage applications—wherever crystal transparency and durable aesthetics can improve the consumer’s image of a food-contact product.”
“Tritan has similar thermostability to polycarbonate (PC),” according to Mr. Wang. “But the transparency and brightness look much better than PC after everyday use, and it’s made without BPA (bisphenol A).”
Confidence in both materials and suppliers is critical when molders need to deliver the highest level of performance. For example, AMP first came to Eastman because of its expertise and reputation for quality PCTG as well as technical and resource support.
Since then, AMP has seen Eastman continue its commitment to molders—even increasing molder support in the past few years through its online technical information center, TritanMoldIt.com.
True to its mission, AMP continues to help manufacturers improve their products and enhance their brand image
through quality materials and innovative thinking. This is adding value to part design and mold manufacture as well as part production, assembly and packaging.
