Rotterdam, The Netherlands, November 13, 2018 – For the past year, Eastman has been celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the 2007–2008 launch of Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. Now, it's time to celebrate a key customer who has been successfully using Tritan since the very beginning.
Andriolo had the foresight to see the potential of Tritan and the courage to begin using the unproven polymer to mold refillable water bottles as soon as it was available.
Innovation is nothing new for this Milan-based, family-owned company. Starting with a passion for form, color and design, Andriolo has been working with plastics for more than 60 years. Today, the company focuses on producing high-quality bottles for consumers who love to cycle, hike or just make the most of their active lives every day.
The company's founder, an avid cyclist himself, saw the chance to improve water bottles when he began focusing on sports bottles in 1992. He also was among the first to see the value of the water bottle as a promotional item, beginning with brand recognition for makers of cycling components.
"When Tritan was introduced, we saw the chance to take bottles to a higher level based on quality and durable aesthetics," says Anna Andriolo, the company's manager. "It lets us produce a BPA-free bottle that resists unwanted odors and tastes."
The refillable R3 bottles made with Tritan™ from Eastman also allow more vibrant colors and glasslike transparency. They are durable enough to retain their good looks after daily use and repeated cleaning with detergents.
"The R3 name is rooted in the three pillars of sustainability: 'Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.'" says Andriolo. "It serves as an everyday reminder to replace single-use water bottles with long-lasting refillable bottles—great-looking bottles that active consumers can be proud to use every day."
No European brand has more experience with Tritan than Andriolo. The company continues to make 100% of its sports bottles in Italy and continues to find new ways to innovate, including the dramatic form and colors of the new R3 Frost and the playful surface features of the R3 Bubble.
